Everyone has been really lovely, and I no longer feel like a scared little kid in year 7! I've met my twinnie and fellow Brit Emma who is to become my gal pal and roomies! Finding someone who also does fashion communication and promotion at uni and actually understands what the tell that title entails rather than just nodding with unsure expression meant that bromance had potential!
Despite being pretty tried from being up at like 6am to wax my legs... (Shock!). We arrived in Paris and had a brief tour of the city, from which I took that they're seriously into their symmetry with buildings. People with OCD tendancies, I strongly suggest you visit! Parisians drive like man men, it's a little bit like junction 10 in operation stack where it's every man for themselves... All I can say is I'm glad I'm not the one driving! I'm not going to attempt to spell all the sights we saw but as I go to climb them all on Sunday I'll give you pictures to visually explain (then we will test your French knowledge). Following our swift trip round, what is a stunning city (Napoleon may have been a pain in the ass but he made some incredible monuments!). We headed to dinner!
What better time to try snails than in your first day in Pariii! Chucking myself in the deep end I picked up the utensils (and I say this because they're certainly not a knife and fork!) and dug in... They were actually so nice! I was really surprised that I liked them so much, but 100% going to be ordering those again! The rest of dinner was washed down by Rose and fabulous chat, learning all about the red necks in Canada (slightly off topic, but just as interesting!).
Then came the time to discover Parisian nightlife in all its glory... Who knew clubs and bars would be so hard to find. But with a short taxi ride in the firm direction of the Moulin Rouge (we figured it would be a promising place to start, or start a new career! Calm down John I'm only messing!) we came to the hustle and bustle! A discussion over whether we go to a strip club, massage parlour or a bar, resulted in ordering a cosmopolitan and getting to know my fellow travellers some more. I haven't told them my secret identity of Dora yet, but I'm getting there!
Moving on from there we found a strange place called Bus Palladium which was weird and wonderful with live music in a small dingy room! But the drinks were strong and the jäger bombs were in large supply so we had a great time!
Ending our night at 2 am we slunk to our rooms and fully crashed out...for 6 hours till the next day of adventures! I feel as though lack of sleep is something I'm going to have to come to terms with on this trip!
Excited to read about your travels girlie! Enjoy Paris! x
