Feeling like a French celeb we stalked straight to the front and came face to face with the inside of that glass triangle everyone wants to get a picture holding (myself included obviously!) to be fair that alone should be considered just as famous! Meeting the cutest security guard EVER (I can't remember his name now, but he was eating tiny strawberries and I wanted to take him home!), he pointed us in the direction of the Mona Lisa! Now don't get me wrong, I'm all down for a museum to mooch around, but today we were on a tight schedule! And after yesterday's mishaps with the Eiffel Tower we were determined to make this one a great one! Stalking through the many many rooms and a few misdirections later...FINALLY WE WERE HERE!
Not to burst anyone's bubble, but it's a bit of an anticlimax! I mean she's kinda small. She looks sassier in person than in the pics so maybe that's why she's such a big deal, but apart from that, I'm not sure why the Chinese were taking 10,0000 selfies on their iPads with her! The painting behind is like 100X more impressive!
Hey ho, I can now say I've seen Big Lees herself...and it was onwards and upwards for the obligatory pic holding the glass triangle for all the fans! After the camera angles were exactly right we headed down towards Notre Dame, home to Quozzie for those of you who are unsure! On the way I came across a guy selling locks and keys, and yes I may be a single lady, but you've got to do the whole love lock bridge thing (even though the bridge has actually been removed cause it's too heavy, but need to keep the looky looky men in business now don't we!). With this in mind I put the whole cliche initials and 'still searching' on the back. You know, just incase Prince Charming finds it one day and dives in the river to get the key to my heart...yeah, anyway!
Of course as soon as we get near Notre Dame it starts to rain again and I'm starting to think Paris isn't as fab as I originally thought and they've got it out to get me! Luckily I got in just before it started to pour! So yeah that was pretty impressive, I got to walk around during service which was cool I spose... But again once you've seen one, you've kinda seen them all! But the outside was my favourite!
A quick stop off for a banana and chocolate crepe later and we were on our way to the Arc De Triomphe! A couple of stairs later and we were up top having a mad time! Ha, I joke, there was quite a few stairs, but I'm hoping it will help me on my way to a pert ass! And the view was beautiful! If you ask me, better than the Eiffel Tower, 95% because it didn't rain, oh sorry I mean, HAIL on us! Plus he fact you can see the Eiffel Tower in the view!
After a seriously packed day, we thought there was no better way to reward ourselves than with some well earned retail therapy on the Champs Élysées! Literally feeling as fabulous as Carrie Bradshaw in Parii, but realistically looking like Brits abroad, we headed to....ZARA OBVIOUSLY BECAUSE WE ARE SO EXOTIC, and the rest is history! I know full well my friends will be reading this and going...I TOLD YOU YOU'D BUY LOADS OF STUFF! And okay yes you were right, but genuinely that wasn't my intention, unsure on how I'm gonna get my suitcase home after this trip!
Next up it was time to head out to a French restaurant for our last dinner in fab fab Paris! Branching out for French cuisine I throughly enjoyed my three course meal...and 5 glasses of rosé, whoops! And then it was onto the Caberet!
So I'm not sure if I was just being naive about what a Parisian Caberet would involve, I guess I have seen Moulin Rouge so maybe so, but yeah! I mean it was an eyeful of immaculate female bodies, I mean even down to nipple size was pretty the same! I'm now intrigued to know if that's an interview requirement...I'm almost positive it has to be! Nevertheless it was a great laugh and was helped along the way with champagne! To Emma's downfall of bringing it all back up over he table. Luckily the show had finished so we could swiftly exit!
Next was onto a bar/club next to the Moulin Rouge, where some learnt that the French certainly kiss by the book, and everyone (encouraged by the copious amounts of alcohol) let loose a little and got to know each other a bit more! When we were fully danced off our feet (even though I insisted I wasn't, but in hindsight am glad I left) we headed home to hopefully sleep off the night before in time for the journey to Lyons!
