Discovering Delilahs

Staring today off early I was up at 8, checked my phone, my emails, text my Dad (as he is usually the only other person up at that time, even though he is 3 hours ahead...he's an early riser) got ready for my lectures and set off for the day ahead. 10 minutes into our 'supposed' lecture and we are all engrossed in conversation about our latest New York Trend booklet, and how my friend Immi is a genius on Indesign, with everything she creates looking like it should be a part of Conde Nast! And our lecturer comes in and tells us our (hour earlier than usual) lecture has been canceled! Safe to say we were both pissed and happy (if thats possible), pissed because we had got up at what felt like the crack of dawn, and happy because it meant we could all go back to bed.

Obviously getting up at 8 (because its super early!) no one has time for breakfast. So Ellie, Immi and I decided we would treat ourselves (for getting up SO early) to a nice little breakfast! Having heard of great recommendations about Delilah in Nottingham before, I suggested we go there (the other 2 have been previously and literally SANG its praises). Not to mention the fact that it was featured on 'Jamie and Jimmys Friday Night Feast', something to do with a rare cheese apparently!

Anyway walking up to Lace Market in Nottingham and Immi is talking some crap about "if you look for it, you'll never see it" sounds like it was something that crazy lady with the tea leaves says in Harry Potter! Finally we arrive, now I was expecting a cute little cafe with china teacups and scones, but Delilahs is huge! Its a mix of your grocery store, Italian pastas and a cafe all in one! Its BEAUTIFUL, with its high ceilings and large windows, on a sunny morning like today it seemed like the perfect place to be! Thank god for cancelled early morning lectures eh!

Now there is nothing worse than having food that doesn't live up to the place its served in. Live Weatherspoons, its cheap, simple and a little bit grimy - you're never going to expect a 5* meal, but you know what you're paying for. Well luckily Delilahs did just that! Its food is just as incredible as the place itself...and we only went for breakfast! I can't wait to check it out for lunch and dinner sometime too!

Salmon, Scrambled Eggs and Mushroom with a slice of Toast.

My friend Ellie is currently on a detox, where she can only have fruits and pulses (whatever that means). Hands up to her, she didn't cheat! I know in that place I would have done, but what was really nice is that they catered for her needs. So for those of you out there who are gluten free or dairy free - there are always options available for you if you just ask, or customise a plate yourself as my friend Ellie did!
Rye Bread, Tomatoes and Spinach topped with Olive Oil.

If you're ever in Nottingham, give it a try :)

To Come

Every now and again we have those days where we just want to give up on everything. No one is our friend, we are hated by all and we look gross. Well just remember, this is just a day, not a life. We create our life so why not live the life we have always imagined. For me this is travelling and experiences, thats the life I dream! Being the organised Dora The Explorer I am I like to have plans in place and get things booked as soon as possible. We all have those years where we SAY we are going to do all these things, but we never actually do! I vowed not to have one of those years this year, so everything you see below has been planned and paid for (except for the 21st, thats a work in progress!). Always looking for more, I'm hoping I can also squeeze in a mini holiday with my boy and skiing in the winter as I keep having the craving to go! For some of you it may just be getting the girls together for a cute get away in cornwall, or organising the holiday you've been talking about for years with your partner but you just don't have the money right now. A little note from me, do everything you can, when you can! If you keep putting things off you may never get the chance, and we only regret the things we don't do, not the things we do :)

Classy Cocktails: What She Wore

As you may have read in my flashback over January 2014 I recently discovered CoCo Tang, and have since being there created a craving for their Toblerone Cocktails! If you live in Nottingham and have no yet experienced them I would definitely recommend going! You can either sit down for a couple and have a chat, or go all out and throw some shapes on the dance floor!
So I went for the second time last week and had, as always, a wicked time! I didn't go too over the top dressy but wore a loose fitting Urban Outfitters dress, accompanied by a Topshop thick black belt and my signature Topshop chunky heels :) As you may know already, in my eyes, comfort is key every time!!

Flashback over January '14

Again, I'm not exactly very good with keeping up to date with my flash backs over the months! But as you may have seen, January was a pretty busy one for me! Kicked off the year with a trip to Tiffanys! :)

- I received my second lot of Tiffany blue boxes as a bloated 20th birthday present :)
- I was given flowers by Mini
- I got my second new mini (this time I went to the dark side!)
- I went to New York City for the 3rd time. I think I fall in love with the city more every time I go there
- I booked a trip to Edinburgh with my Boyfriend
- I had my first trip to CoCo Tang in Nottingham and fell in love yet again! The Toblerone cocktails are to die for!
- I re-vamped my blog and got back into the blogging scene
- I started my kick of healthy eating and discovered that my friend Immi is an awesome cook!
- I had my first team picture with Trent Dance First Team :)
- I had my first 2 weeks of all nighters trying to get all my work done for my deadline (THE most stressful 2 weeks of my life)
- I went to Edinburgh with my boyfriend and had the most amazing time, I didn't want to leave . . . to be continued into February :)

NYC Lookbook

A couple of my favourite outfits from the inspiration of the incredible city around me! I know it might sound stupid but being somewhere new, does give you the confidence to try things out that you never would do back home, like big fur coats with Dr. Martens! (it does always help when you have the excuse of -14 weather conditions).
Its a given that New York was incredible, but one of the most important things I took away from it was how much it taught me about myself. My confidence to just trust myself, being in a big city, getting lost and finding my way out. By the time I left 5 days later I felt as though I could happily live in New York alone and navigate my way around. I tried out different outfits and sales )and came home with a new wardrobe) that I just would never have the confidence to do back home. I also realised that I need to not compare what artistic background I have to others, I've got to fashion through a different route, and different doesn't always mean bad, its just different :)

Anyway here is my little New York Lookbook for the 5 days that I spent there (lets remember that I was wearing at least 8 layers on top and 3 on the bottom to keep me warm!)  :)

DAY ONE

DAY TWO

DAY THREE

DAY FOUR

DAY FIVE

Thats my fashion look book for New York pretty much summed up really. Primarily my main focus was researching New York so I didn't get loads of time for selfies, but you get the gist . . . but if you didn't then this should sum it up. I went to New York having never worn Dr. Martens before, and came back with 2 pairs (black and white) plus some Timberlands (and much more!)
